What is a Gated Heart Pool Scan?

A Gated Heart Pool Scan is a scan used to look at how well your heart muscle is pumping blood.

How do I prepare for a Gated Heart Pool Scan?

There are no preparations for a Gated Heart Pool Scan.

What happens during a Gated Heart Pool Scan?

You will be given 2 injections. The first is used to allow us to attach a radioactive tracer to your blood so we can image your heart beating. After the first injection you will be required to wait 15 minutes and then you will be given a second injection of a radioactive tracer to allow us to take pictures of your heart for 20-30 minutes.
